Principal

Miriam Bold  

 

Miriam trained at The Dance Studio from the age of ten and then went on to study at The London College Of Dance. Here she gained The Diploma of The ISTD and her Associate examinations.  After leaving college she taught for Chelsea Ballet schools in London, Bodywork Dance Studios in Cambridge and many schools in the Home Counties. Miriam went on to pass her Associate Diploma of the ISTD and her RAD teaching certificate.  Miriam was Head of Dance at Pipers Corner school in High Wycombe for ten years where she was responsible for teaching all styles of dance to girls from age 3 to 18 and during her time there she set up the GCSE and A level Dance Programme.  She then returned to where her dance journey began and took over as Principal of The Dance Studio in 2002.  Miriam is passionate about offering the very highest standards of professional training and with her skilled and dedicated team aims to create and inspire the dancers of tomorrow.  Miriam lives in St Albans with her husband and three children, combining a busy family life with her rewarding career as Dance School Principal.

 

 

 

Hayley Winton 

Hayley trained at the Bird College of Performing Arts in Kent. She then pursued a performing career, dancing professionally both at home and abroad. Since then she has been teaching all styles of dance including GCSE Dance at the Collective School of Dance & Drama in Rickmansworth and various primary schools. Hayley is an inspirational teacher, full of boundless energy and fun who motivates her students to achieve the best they can. She is an experienced and exciting choreographer who excels in all subjects. Hayley also runs a Moo Music Franchise for little ones in North London and manages Jigsaw Theatre School in Ware. She has a beautiful daughter, Luna who is already enjoying our Tiny Ballerina Toddler classes!

 

 

Christina Hadijsavvas

Christina trained at The College with Penny Meekings where she gained her FDI and CDE qualifications. She is a dedicated member of the team who is sensitive to the needs of her students and especially caring with the little ones. She is experienced in teaching all styles of dance and has taught for various local dance schools and Primary Schools and also has her own school in Sawston, Cambridgeshire. Christina is an inspirational teacher who always manages to find that something special in every student she teaches.

 

 

Lianne Cloot

Lianne is a versatile teacher who is experienced in teaching all age groups. She trained at The Margaret Howard Teacher Training College where she gained her FDI & CDE qualifications. Her classes for the younger children are creative and taught with a wonderful sense of fun and her work with the older students is both challenging and motivating. She is a gifted choreographer who produces such innovative dance pieces. Lianne is also a Creative Director for Pop dance and recently completed a Masters Degree in Dance. Lianne lives locally with her husband Adam and their gorgeous daughter Evangeline.

 

 

Samantha Brennan

Samantha trained at The College with Penny Meekings where she gained her DDI teaching qualifications. Samantha is a bubbly & enthusiastic teacher who teaches with great energy and style and always inspires her students. Equally suited to teaching little ones and the older students, Samantha is a versatile and committed teacher. She has also recently become a Mummy to the very handsome Louie! Samantha teaches our highly regarded Acrobatic Arts Programme which is an excellent addition to our already extensive curriculum.

 

 

Stephanie Jones

Stephanie trained at The Doreen Bird School of performing Arts where she attained her National Diploma in Musical Theatre. She then spent time performing both onstage and in television.  Stephanie then went onto further her dance studies attaining her ISTD teaching qualifications and graduated from Middlesex University with a BA Honours in Dance.  She is passionate about teaching dance and has recently qualified as an ID Contemporary Dance Teacher and attended courses in the new programme Progressing Ballet technique. Stephanie is a highly valued member of the team.

 

 

Katy Beckett

Katy trained at The North London Dance Studio where she gained a 2 year Musical theatre diploma and The Dance College where she gained her ISTD Teacher training qualifications in Ballet, Tap, Modern & Jazz Dance. Katy has extensive performance experience and has danced at Disneyland Paris, in numerous professional pantomimes, Joseph and his technicolour Dream Coat in the West End and various English Youth Ballet productions. She has also worked in children's television and is an experienced choreographer and teacher. 

 

 

Vicky Evans

Vicky trained at London Contemporary Dance School graduating with a BA (Hons) in 1993. Vicky joined Matthew Bourne's AMP/New Adventures from 1995-2008, creating roles and performing in Swan Lake, Cinderella, The Car Man, Nutcracker! and Edward Scissorhands. She also performed in the film versions of Swan Lake, The Car Man and Nutcracker! From 2005-2007 Vicky was Resident Artistic Director for Swan Lake.   Vicky has been teaching professionally for over 20 years for LCDS, Laban, Central School of Ballet, English National Ballet School, The Place, Greenwich Dance Agency and was a founder member and workshop leader for Re:Bourne.  Vicky currently works part-time at The Place as Programme Manager for the Centre for Advanced Training in dance programme and she also runs her own creative dance class for pre-schoolers called Rhythm Read Rhyme Dance Sing Mime.  Vicky lives in St Albans with her son. 

 

Sara Clayton

Sara is home grown talent and received all her early training with The Dance Studio. She then went on to study at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts. There, she was awarded a scholarship to further her education. Sara gained valuable performance experience and then decided to pass on her love of dance to others and train as a teacher. She completed her ISTD qualifications with Penny Meekings at The College and then returned to join the faculty at The Dance Studio. She works with all ages throughout the school and always inspires her students to give their best.
